Protect your accounts

Use unique passwords, enable two-step verification, and never share login codes—even with someone claiming to be support staff.

Protect your privacy

Check who can see your posts, avoid sharing your live location, school details or daily routine, and ask before posting photos of others.

Handle unwanted contact

Do not feel pressured to reply. Save evidence where safe, block the account, and tell a trusted adult if someone makes you uncomfortable.

Think before acting

Pause before clicking links, downloading files, sending money or forwarding shocking content. Scams often rely on urgency and fear.

For parents and carers

Keep conversations calm and regular. Agree age-appropriate boundaries, review privacy settings together and make it easy for children to ask for help.

For youth volunteers

Use approved communication channels, avoid private one-to-one messaging where possible, and follow the mosque’s safeguarding procedures.

Need help? Speak to a parent, carer, teacher, safeguarding lead or another trusted adult. If something involves immediate danger, contact the emergency services.
